A couple of years ago, I forced myself to go to a speed dating event sponsored by Sports4Good.  Sports4Good is a great organization in the City that brings people together in competitive or recreational team play.  Over the years, I’ve met a lot of cool people either playing co-ed soccer, dodgeball, kickball, flag football, or through some of their random events, so when I received an email about speed dating with S4G, I thought it might be fun.

Sometimes I have what I think are great ideas…

During the event, I thought, “Why the HELL am I doing this to myself?” How do you say glutton for punishment?  But then I met “Irish Dave.” Nothing really ever happened with Irish Dave, except that since our first and only date, he would occasionally send me text messages to check in on my relationship status.  Two weeks ago, I received this message from him:
